Significance of Plasma UCA1 for Predicting Colorectal Cancer and BRAF Mutation Status

چکیده

Background: Clinical significance of plasma urothelial carcinoma associated 1 (UCA1) in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) remains unclear. This study investigated the usefulness UCA1 as a biomarker CRC. Materials and Methods: levels were measured tissue from CRC by quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Relationships between clinicopathological features examined. Results: Plasma significantly lower than healthy volunteers. expression B-Raf proto-oncogene serine/threonine kinase (BRAF)-mutant was also that non-cancerous tissue, although it higher wild-type BRAF. In right-sided CRC, level pT4 BRAF mutation. contrast, left-sided pStage 3b-4. Conclusion: is useful for detection predicting features, particularly

Evaluation of BRAF-V600E gene mutation in colon tissue of patients with colorectal cancer in Iran

Background: Colorectal cancer is one of the most common types of cancer and the cause of death of a large number of patients and requires investigating the causes of the disease and adopting targeted therapies. Considering the diagnostic, therapeutic, and prognostic significance of genetic markers, in the present study BRAF-V600E gene mutation was evaluated in tissue samples of colorectal cance...

BRAF Mutation in Colorectal Cancer

The BRAF mutant colorectal cancer subgroup is a small population with unique clinicopathological and molecular features. This subgroup has been associated with particularly poor prognosis and advanced disease. The poor response of these patients to available treatments has driven much of the effort in trialling combination targeted treatments involving BRAF and MEK inhibitors. Most recently, an...

BRAF Mutation in Colorectal Cancer: An Update

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is still one of the deadliest cancer-related diseases. About 10% of CRC patients are characterized by a mutation in the B-Raf proto-oncogene serine/threonine kinase (BRAF) gene resulting in a valine-to-glutamate change at the residue 600 (V600E). This mutation is also present in more than 60% of melanoma patients. BRAF inhibitors were developed and found to improve patie...

BRAF mutation testing in colorectal cancer.

Colorectal cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in the United States. Understanding the biochemical pathways underlying carcinogenesis has paved the way for more effective treatments and better outcomes. BRAF mutation testing has a role in (1) differentiating sporadic colorectal cancer from Lynch syndrome, (2) identifying cancers lacking BRAF mutation that are more likely to r...

clinical implications of braf mutation test in colorectal cancer

knowledge about the clinical significance of v-raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog b1 ( braf ) mutations in colorectal cancer (crc) is growing. braf encodes a protein kinase involved with intracellular signaling and cell division. the gene product is a downstream effector of kirsten ras 1( kras ) within the ras/raf/mapk cellular signaling pathway. evidence suggests that braf mutations, li...
